Our Inspiration

Meet Danielle

Danielle was vibrant, competitive, compassionate, and deeply loved.

She had a wonderfully wry and sarcastic sense of humor. Her timing was impeccable, her laughter was contagious, and no one in the family was entirely safe from becoming the target of one of her jokes—especially her older sister, Elizabeth.

She loved dogs, particularly the ones who needed extra care. When her Labrador Retriever Ace came to her after experiencing neglect and trauma, Danielle patiently helped him learn to trust again. She described her goal simply: she wanted him to become “a real dog.”

Danielle loved sports and the outdoors. She played varsity tennis and softball, competed fiercely in everything from playground football to family pool tournaments, and treasured bird-hunting trips with her father, her cousin Patrick, and the family dogs.

She was a devoted Utah Jazz fan, especially during the John Stockton/Karl Malone years. She loved television and movies, had seen every episode of The Simpsons, and named her dog Homer after one of the show’s most memorable characters. She preferred pie to birthday cake, believed dessert should never be optional, and had five tree frogs - all named Gus.

These details may seem small, but they are the pieces that made Danielle who she was.

Migraine was part of her story. It was never the whole of her.
